A: Claim information is shown in real-time.

Q: I have multiple policy numbers; how can I view them all?
A: You can view multiple policies by selecting the ALL button or the Display all Policies button in the main search field.

Q: How do I search for a particular claimant?
A: You can view individual claims when you are in the View Claims by Policy area by the Claim Number or Claimant’s Last Name, First Name. You can use the Search Claims feature if you have the Claim Number.

Q: Can I search for open claims only?
A: Yes, in the View Claims by Policy area or by using the Search Claims feature by filtering the search selection of Claim Type and choosing Open, Closed or Incomplete.

Q: If I have multiple policy numbers, how do I view all claims for all policies?
A: You can search all claims for all policies while in the Search Claims feature, by selecting All Policies as a filter. You can limit your search by filtering to view Open/Indemnity, or Open/Medical Only.

Q: Can I view my claims by Risk Location only?
A: Yes, you can view by Risk Location in the Search Claims Feature.

Q: What is the Total Reserve Amount?
A: The Total Reserve Amount in a policy period is the Total Medical and Indemnity Paid plus the Total Medical and Indemnity Remaining amounts for ALL Claims for that Policy Period. If you are looking at a specific claim, the Total Reserve Amount is the Total Medical and Indemnity Paid plus the Total Medical and Indemnity Remaining Amounts for that particular claim.

Q: Why does a claim display re-open when we haven’t received a Notice of Reopening?
A: Sometimes, a claim is re-opened internally to process an outstanding bill and will be re-closed internally after bill is processed. If at any time you have a question regarding a reopening, contact your Claims Adjuster.

Q: What is a claim status of Expired Occurrence?
A: A claim status of Expired Occurrence is a claim that has been voided, usually due to a duplicate claim.

Q: What is a claim type of Incident Only?
A: An Incident Only claim is when the injured worker did not seek medical treatment for their injury. The claim is closed and no benefits are paid.

Q: What is a claim type of Incomplete Occurrence?
A: Claim information is in the system, but there is missing information, therefore a claim number has not been assigned.

Q: What is a claim type of Pending?
A: A decision has not been made to accept or deny the claim.

A: Individual coverage may be in question, possibly excluded from coverage or rejecter of coverage.

A: This number is an internal reference number.

A: That the injured worker (claimant) is represented by an attorney.

A: It means there may be SCF legal involvement in the claim.

Q: What is the Nature of Injury?
A: The Nature of Injury is a description of the injury such as laceration, contusion, sprain or fracture.

Q: Why does the Closed Date show a different date than the last Notice of Claim Status received?
A: The Closed Date shown on the Claims Web View may reflect that a claim was reopened internally to process an outstanding bill and then reclosed. If you have any questions regarding the reopening or closure date, please contact your claims adjuster.
